Bees make honey, everyone knows that. But more often than not, everyone overlooks their other, more important function in the food chain: natural and effective pollinators of plants. If bees were not around to pollinate, the world would definitely be a hungrier place - and such is the reason why we should be scared that plants are bees are now currently being killed off. The details in the full article. |

There's a lot happening in the environment lately, and all of us have to do our part in order to stop things from getting bad to worse. Now, we find out about the different ways even we of the computer age can contribute to the cause, and it's not about going out of our offices and planting lots of trees (although that is pretty good, actually). The habits you should pick up in the full article. |

If you were wondering just why we haven't yet stepped foot onto Mars, here's quite the revelation: it seems that a certain dangerous element that all astronauts are exposed to whenever they reach orbit is stopping NASA from getting there. And no, it's not space gremlins or anything like that. All the perplexing details in the full article. |

Kraft Foods, a major producer and conglomerate of cheese, has revealed that it is taking the issue of intestinal parasites (i.e. worms and such) very seriously - to the point that it's planning to include a new ingredient in its cheese products that should take care of the pesky pests. This unusual new product is aimed at Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Check out the details of this endeavor after the jump. |

When you switch on your transistor radios (or MP3 players, for those of us in the bleeding edge of technology) do you stop and think about how they're getting smaller and smaller with every passing day? Ever wondered how just small they can go? Well, a group of researchers from Chicago have discovered that they can go as small as tinier than a sand grain - and it's not that hard to make them, either. Check out how in the full article. |

The moon might be a wonder to look at now, but imagine if it didn't have the craters on its surface. Yup, it would look pretty weird without its characteristic, almost mysterious appearance - and so, we have to thank Late Heavy Bombardment, a point in time when the moon and other inner planets got bombarded with asteroids, for our satellite's signature look. But what caused Late Heavy Bombardment (LHB)? No one knows for sure, but it seems a guy at the Carnegie Institution has an idea. Check out the full article to see what he thinks. |
