Common misconception about penis size is that "the longer, the better". A couple of doctors, Kevan Wylie and Ian Eardly from the UK beg to differ - compiling researches from all over the world, spanning more than 60 years reveal that length is not important for women.

90% of the women surveyed since 1942 actually think that penis width matters more than length. It's not much of a biggie for the ladies, 85% are satisfied with their partners but it's the other way around for men.  Only 55% of men are satisfied with their own sizes. In an online survey with 52,000 male participants, 12% thought their penises were too small.

The insecurity or discontent is mostly caused by small penis syndrome (SPS), or locker room syndrome which happens more often to those with normal-sized penises. SPS is said to begin early, stemming from childhood anxiety and peers during teenage years. There's a remedy for this, as long as the patient is willing to undergo through urological, psychosexual, psychological, and psychiatric assessment.

Other misconceptions would include racial differences, such as Asians having smaller penises than men from the west. This, along with the belief that older men have smaller members were debunked by the study.

Looks like guys should be less concerned about their own sizes. Penis-enlarging surgery and other methods are less likely to give satisfaction to the patient, with only a few getting a psychological boost thanks to successful operations. Whatever you do, it's not advisable to try out older methods. Letting a poisonous snake bite your thing or hanging weights on it don't sound spectacular.
