Weight lossIf you're familiar with the Kübler-Ross model, then you know that people go through five stages when dealing with death: denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. Little do others know that this can be applied to dealing with weight loss as well. Let's take a look:

  1. Denial: I'm not really fat. I'm just chubby. It's in the genes, you know? As if eating junk food everyday will make me gain 20 lbs.
  2. Anger: So what if I live on a junk food diet?! I'm way different from the guy in "Supersize Me"! (smashes windows)
  3. Bargaining: Okay, I'll cut down on the cholesterol. BUT not when I'm stressed, which is like, every single day.
  4. Depression: I can't do it. Veggies taste yucky, anyway.
  5. Acceptance: So what if I'm not thin? Lindsay Lohan and Nicole Richie look creepy anyway.
While we don't have grudges about being overweight, we got to admit that being obese may cause serious health problems for you in the future. Of course we're not saying that being overweight and being obese aren't different. After all, we got smart readers, so we know that you know the difference already, right?

Anyway, if you're too keen on weight loss, maybe we can help you out. We got ten tips for weight loss, minus the no-calories fuss. Although people have various weight loss styles, others claimed that these worked for them, so they may probably work for you as well. Why don't you take a look?
  1. Figure out your starting point: Before you go on a dieting spree, you better ask yourself how much weight you exactly want to lose. Once you got that all figured out, you can choose a plan that is in line with your goal. After all, you won't need to go on a salt cracker diet if you only want to lose 2 lbs., right?
  2. Take baby steps: Doing something really drastic is rarely a good thing when dieting, as your body needs to take time to get used to changes. Maybe you can start your weight loss program by decreasing your junk food intake, instead of skipping on two meals everyday.
  3. Water, Water, Water: Some experts say that we often mistake hunger for thirst, so next time you feel a binge coming up, try to take some fluids instead.
  4. Check calories and fat content: Nope, we're not taking about OBSSESSING on calories here. However, it might help if you have an idea how much calories a certain food has, so you can take it in moderation.
  5. Don't be so hard on yourself: Gave in to that sumptuous chocolate cake that you have been eyeing for ages? Don't worry, there's no need to punish yourself. So what? There's no wrong with indulging yourself, as long as you don't do it every five seconds. As what other say, "moderation is the key".
  6. Don't expect immediate results: Remember I said earlier that our bodies need time to get used to changes? That goes for losing weight, too. After all, weight loss doesn't happen overnight (unless you had liposuction or something). Once your bod gets adjusted, we're pretty sure you'll see the changes show up in one way or another.
  7. Avoid the trap of diet pills: We're guessing you're into weight loss because of the health benefits (right? right? right?). So what the heck are you doing with those diet pills?
  8. Ditch the scale: Our source says that many scales are inaccurate anyway, so why the fuss? There's no need to obsess on figures when you feel good and look healthy, right?
  9. Take a multivitamin: Why? Because they're good for you, period.
  10. Take all advice with a grain of salt: Don't jump into bandwagons just because they're in. But then again, you'll never know, right? Just kidding. Of course, it pays to be cautious, right? So why on earth are you reading this list again?
Kidding aside, we do wish you luck on your weight loss program. Do keep in mind that what really matters is what you think of yourself, instead of other people's opinion on how you should look.
