Probably once in our lives, we wanted to be immortal. That's probably why we still have immortal superheroes, villains, gods & goddesses, among other beings. Probably that's also why a lot of people (over 6,500) are already signing up to donate their bodies to Body Worlds. It's a travelling exhibition show that presents modern day mummies to the public. No, these aren't the usual tissue paper rolled-type of mummies that we normally see in movies, but rather the creepier kind.

It usually shows the human body without skin. Sometimes, there would be some exhibits that showcase different parts of the human body. These bodies have undergone plastination. Plastination is a process wherein a clear polymer replaces the bodily fluids. It hardens gradually until the body can be posed in different ways.

So why show these things off in a travelling exhibition, why not put them up in science labs or museums? According to the exhibitors, their mission is to educate people about the human body, leading to better health awareness. Yes, it will help once you see how a smoker's lungs look like.

So if you want to be immortalized you can either have yourself painted or plastinated. Your choice.
