Global Warming - Image 1Aside from posing grave threats to the environment (such as the plummeting of the world's bird population), rapid climate change will also be a factor in aggravating international security issues, according to the Center for Strategic and International Studies, as well as the Center for a New American Security.

The report compiled by climate and security specialists predicts that the havoc wrought upon by fast-changing climate will spark international issues, such as the ever-decreasing supply of water in the Middle East and the resulting competition, or the destruction storms in Asia that will force inhabitants to fight over land. According to the report:

The collapse and chaos associated with extreme climate change futures would destabilize virtually every aspect of modern life...Climate change has the potential to be one of the greatest national security challenges that this or any other generation of policy makers is likely to confront.

Other woeful predictions caused by the climate change include the widespread escalation of diseases, as well as increased strife in those regions where climate will change most dramatically. There will also be increased tensions between the rich and poor, grave health problems, and negative recoil towards massive migration.

 » here is something funny

They say all the arctic ice is melting, which is true, for the ARCTIC ice anyway. The antartic ice is growing as fast as ever. And florida is still not under water.

Nice Al Gore comment.

Why are they telling people to "go green" if the "effects" of global warming have already occured or are going to soon inevitably? I don't think that if human beings stopped producing carbon into the atmosphere altogether that the "effects" would cease. They would still occur. So I say this as I proudly admire my Humungous SUV that just happens to get better gas mileage than most high-end sports cars. Yes my suburban gets better gas mileage than the Sub-Lime green Daytona Charger. Window Stickers always lie.
