The most amazing thing about this newest powerful telescope revealed at a Massachusetts observatory is that it can cover 100,000 times more sky than the current telescopes we have on Earth.

Built at the Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics' Oak Ridge Observatory in Harvard University, this powerful telescope is programmed to search the skies for artificial light pulses that may come from other alien civilizations in other parts of the universe. Scientists believe that sending laser signals may also be another way of communicating other than sending radio transmissions.

The telescope uses a camera that can scan the sky and detect a billionth-of-a-second flash of light.
