Hubble sweet sixteen

Some of the most phenomenal images from space were taken by the Hubble Space Telescope. Sixteen years ago the Hubble started its mission to capture images to help in the exploration of space. The two agencies involved in the project, NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA), have decided to release an image of the the Messier 82 starburst galaxy that was taken in 2006 by the Hubble Telescope.

This image shows one of the fastest grown star cluster area in the Milky Way. The white area are actual star clusters and the brighter part in the center are “starburst clumps” that gather there. The reason  this galaxy generates such a huge volume of newborn stars is that the gases produced from these stars create a whirlwind effect that compresses enough gas to make millions of more stars.

This discovery is one of many of discoveries that the Hubble Space Telescope was able to generate with its superior technology.
