Creation Museum opened last Saturday - Image 1Non-government organization Answers in Genesis has just put up a US$ 27 million Creation Museum in Petersburg, Kentucky depicting a dinosaur sailing on Noah's Ark.

It might sound funny to some and it might look a bit absurd but this has bigger implications and is part of the endless debate between the creationists and evolutionists.

The museum showcases the creationists' stand that our Earth was created by God in six days around 6,000 years ago. Other exhibits include the Grand Canyon taking just days to form during Noah's flood, dinosaurs co-existing with humans and Cain marrying his sister to people the earth.

Answers in Genesis President Ken Ham commented, "What we've done here is to give people an opportunity to hear information that is not readily available... to challenge them that really you can believe the Bible's history."

Those who are not in favor of the museum maintain that it will ultimately confuse children, however.

"Teachers don't deserve a student coming into class saying 'Gee Mrs. Brown, I went to this fancy museum and it said you're teaching me a lie,'" said Executive Director of the National Center for Science Education Dr. Eugenie Scott just before the said museum was opened last Saturday.

amazing that someone can say these to things together with a straight face

"to challenge them that really you can believe the Bible's history."
and
'Earth was created by God in six days around 6,000 years ago"

jeez why cant creationists just believe that evolution is gods autopilot or something, cuz evolution is all but absolutly prooven and arguments like dinosaurs coexisted with humans is just garbage some guy made up. scientists dont know what started evolution. creationists can work from there and stop trying to trick our children into believing their illogical and honestly insane views.

i have 2 apples i add 2 apples to that i get six apples. I cant proove it but you should believe it anyway cuz I live in a nice tight little box without airholes. Oh and you'll go to hell if you dont. ~_o

i'm guessing creationists haven't watched jurassic park, the T-rex would've owned everything on the ship, maybe thats why they haven't found Noah's body

I've yet to meet a creationist.... I kind of want to... that way I can poke them to see if they really exist, otherwise I'm sticking to my theory that there are no creationists, it's all just a government conspiracy!!!

I am a creationist. They do exist, and some of them are...off.. ,but you would find (hopefully) that most are nice, logical people if you ever got a chance to meet one..And as far as the museum goes, the number of creationist museums compared to evolutionist museums is quite off balance, and I think a wider exposure to other theories is a positive thing.
