It's a well known fact that the state of California lies on the San Andreas Fault, making it extremely prone to earthquakes. Earthquakes being what they are, there is always bound to be a powerful earthquake to arrive once in a while, as movies can attest to.

So when is the big one coming? New data from the 2007 Working Group on California Earthquake Probabilities say that the next big earthquake will arrive within the next 30 years. According to their data, it's a 99.7% guarantee.

Their data says that an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.7 or larger will hit within that time. The chances of a magnitude 7.5 earthquake hitting within that period is 46%, and will more likely happen in the southern half of the state.

Magnitude 7 earthquakes are known to be devastating. If you happen to live in California, you may want to consider looking for some hills to head for once the big one hits.

There's so many of these "predicted" natural disasters going about, I can hardly keep track of them already...

Just a couple supposedly-going-to-happen natural disasters off the top of my head right now: the Yellowstone supervolcano explosion... the Apopophis meteor crash in 2030... the live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender movie... oh wait.... -_-;;

 » Well

We can always hope that the earthquake will only localize itself right below the Hollywood studio where the Avatar movie is being filmed.

 » uh... right...

unlikely. because if that were the case, Toph would just un-Earthbend the earthquake. hehehe! ;-)

WHEN IS THE NEW CHAPTER GOING TO COME OUT !!!

 » i've been waiting for it myself

maaaaan the wait is killing me. last i heard was that it'll be a two-part episode. it'll be called "the boiling rock" or some such... part one is episode 14, part two is ep15.

everyone's eying an air date prior to mid-May. that's because the next DVD (season3, volume 3) will be containing episodes 14 and 15. i think. and it wouldn't make sense to them to release the DVD before they air it on tv right? well, that's what a lot of people believe at least. maybe for the hopefuls like us, i guess... hahaha!

anyways... sorry for hijacking your article and going off topic isaac. hahaha! but cmon... avatar, man... AVATAR! :p
