Nile Crocodiles looking either bored or hungry - Image 1Who says you need to see what you're eating in order to enjoy your meal? A group of crocodiles swimming in the Mary River in Australia would probably tell you otherwise if they could talk. Since they can't, you can just watch a video of the reptiles feeding in pitch darkness, which a BBC crew managed to capture on film.

So how did the crocs manage to do it? Simple: the predators somehow knew that mullet tend to migrate upriver in order to breed, so the reptiles waited patiently with their jaws wide open. As the hapless fish swam to close to them, the crocodiles promptly snapped their jaws shut and ate the struggling mullet alive.

What's interesting to note is that while crocodiles are usually very territorial animals, they didn't  seem to mind so much when it came to waiting close to each other for the chance at a fishy meal. Nevertheless, it's so much better if you see the actual video for yourselves. Just click on the source link below and you'll be whisked away to the BBC film crew footage.
