Astronomers Produce Best Map Ever of Milky Way's Star Factories

Researchers have managed to produce the clearest map ever of the dark, inactive gas clouds, composed of a rare form of carbon monoxide, where stars in our Milky Way are formed.

The clouds themselves are in the very earliest stages of star development, quite different from the bright clouds where stars are actively formed, and much older to boot - they've yet to be heated by any stars that exist within them.  It's thus very important to study them, as they will be able to provide even more fundamental information about how stars originate. Since our comprehension of star development is so crucial to understanding the Milky Way and its dynamics, we think this project is of real significance and should be supported fully.
